The Annual Donor Event's Programme

The EBRD’s partnerships with donors are crucial for the Bank’s business operations. In providing resources for technical cooperation, grants and concessional instruments, donors help the Bank to deliver its transition mandate, while at the same time contributing to broader economic development outcomes.

A key event of the Programme will be a panel entitled Influencing Change – Donor Climate Finance at Work  where you will hear about the role donors and the private sector play in shaping the post-Paris environment in the EBRD region. This event will focus on the scaling up of the EBRD’s green finance between now and 2020, which will support countries’ ambitions to move to a low-carbon, green growth path. This will be open to all Annual Meeting and Business Forum participants.

The Programme will also offer an opportunity for donors and the EBRD to discuss the results of their partnership, progress over the past year as well as future challenges and reforms. The Donor Report 2015 will also be launched. We will conclude the day with a donor Assembly of the SEMED Multi-donor Fund, which will include a session on the Bank’s refugee response.

Financing for Green Infrastructure Investment

Event Room 1, Level 2, EBRD Headquarters

As in previous years, a half-day Associated Event on green infrastructure will take place on 10 May. Organised by EBRD’s Economics, Policy and Governance Department together with the Energy Efficiency and Climate Change team, the  event will focus on green infrastructure as a way to boost the EBRD region’s economic growth, while at the same promoting resource, energy, and carbon efficiency and lessening environmental degradation.

The event will be a chance to hear practitioners in the field -- from investors and experts to government and policy-makers -- provide financial, regulatory, and technical points of view.

As was the case at the 2015 Annual Meeting in Tbilisi, the EBRD proposes to organise its Associated Event in partnership with the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee (RBWC), a not-for-profit organisation that promotes the stability of the international financial architecture and monetary system, as well as with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the lead organisation coordinating environmental matters within the United Nations system.
